Milk is an important part of our diet. Milk is our first diet after birth that is through breastfeeding , afterwards we begin to consume cow’s milk or buffalo’s milk. Some people are so much addicted to the milk while on other hand there are a lot of people who don’t like the taste of it or they think that they don’t need to drink it anymore.

But milk is the must have diet specially for vegetarians at any age. It is a great source of vitamins & nutrients like calcium, vitamin A, B6, B12 , C, D , K, E, thiamine,  niacin, biotin, riboflavin, folates & pantothenic acid. It also has several health benefits such as :

  • Healthy Bones & Teeths : Milk is a good source of calcium which is essential for healthy bones. Children should have milk for their growing bones and adults should have milk to keep their bones strong & to prevent osteoporosis. Milk is very good for your teeth also. It helps to prevent tooth decay and cavities.
  • Muscles : Milk contains protein which helps to rebuild muscles. A glass of milk post workout helps to recover your body.
  • Weight loss : Studies show that women who drink low-fat or skim milk lose more weight than those who skip milk from their diet. 1 glass of low fat milk per day or just add it in your breakfast along with cereals & fruits.
  • Stress Reliever : A glass of warm milk will help to relax tense muscles and soothe frayed nerves. Whenever you feel frazzled, try drinking a glass of milk.
  • Healthy Body : Milk has properties to lower high blood pressure and risks of stroke. It reduces liver’s cholesterol and it can act as Antacid. Vitamin A & B in milk can help for good eyesight.
  • Soft Smooth Skin : Milk in diet make your skin healthy inside out. And you can also apply milk topically on face , hands , legs or on overall body to make it smooth, supple & glowing. Lactic acid of the milk helps to smoothen your skin.

  1. While I do have milk in my diet, I by no means believe it to be essential to my diet and often substitute with nut milks, oat milk or rice milk x
