How are you my healthy community? Hope you all doing well & making your life healthy. Can any one guess about what I am going to share today? Well, If you can guess that’s good and if you can’t that’s very good. Let’s move to the topic….
Presently many of the elderly persons suffers from memory difficulties in daily life (if you have observed or know about it then please share your experience). Memory difficulties can caused by many reasons but when it starts approximate at the age of 60 to 65 associated with dysfunction in complex daily activities, cognitive impairments, mood swings, disorientation – so these are the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease which is most common cause of Dementia.
Long before people with Alzheimer’s disease shows signs of cognitive decline, plaques made of the beta-amyloid protein and twisted fibers of the tau protein begin to form in their brains.”These disease starts 10 to 15 years before a person begins experiencing dementia symptoms,”says Paul Aisen MD, director of the Alzheimer’s Theraputic Research Institute at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. By the time someone reaches age 65, he or she has a 10 percent chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease. That risk increases to 50 percent by age 85.
As the Baby Boomer generation continue to age, the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease could triple to 13.8 million by the year 2050, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. “It’s one of the most feared consequences of aging,”says Dr. Aisen.
Knowing that brain damage begins before symptoms appear, researchers are studying anti-amyloid therapies that could be applied in the pre-symptomatic stage when they may be most effective, Dr. Aisen says.

Less than 5 percent of Alzheimer’s cases are from genetics. The majority of Alzheimer’s can be prevented by lifestyle changes and modifications. Simple things like diet. Make sure you’re eating a diet that’s good for your heart. A Mediterranean diet, which is good for your heart, it’s also a good anti-Alzheimer’s diet. Make sure that your lifestyle & you’re active. Exercise 30 minutes 3 times a week.”said Dr. Gayatri Devi of New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital. You can prevent upto 60 percent of Alzheimer’s cases.
